Elmo and Katy Perry are Still Friends
Katy Perry’s duet with Elmo may have been cut from the latest season of Sesame Street, but that doesn’t mean the two are no longer friends. Elmo appeared on Good Morning America today and told host George Stephanopoulos, “Elmo loves Ms. Katy and we had a good time. So we'll have another play date.” Their duet, which was a re-working of Perry’s hit single "Hot N’ Cold," was criticized by some parents for being too racy and for showing too much cleavage. Perry released a statement thanking the producers of the show and saying that she “enjoyed working with Sesame Street -- and playing dress up with Elmo.” Here’s hoping for a reunion. [NY Daily News]
Airplanes of the Future will be Invisible
Airplane manufacturer Airbus has unveiled plans to create airplanes made with a completely transparent fuselage. The new airplanes would allow passengers to see unobstructed views of everything outside the plane. Airbus' head of research and technology, Axel Krein, told German publication Der Spiegel, “The planes of the future will offer an unparalleled, unobstructed view of the wonders of the five continents - where you will be able see the pyramids or the Eiffel Tower through the transparent floor of the aircraft.” The new airplanes are only in the concept stage and are not expected to start flying until at least 2050. NFL Now Featuring Exciting New Blackouts
Want to watch the undefeated tilt between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday? If you live in Tampa Bay, this may be a problem. According to USA Today, "The team announced on Thursday that it had failed to sell out their stadium by the NFL's imposed deadline. So the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers will not air locally, as NFL rules demand for games that fail to sell out 72 hours before kickoff." The organization is pretty disappointed that people living in an area ravaged by unemployment can't scrape together a few hundred dollars for football tickets. [USA Today]
Carmelo Anthony Wants to Trade One Crappy Situation for a Slightly Crappier One
One of the league's best players is reportedly in trade talks/demands that would send him to the New Jersey Nets. According to sources, Carmelo Anthony would go to the Nets in a four-team deal as part of his request to play for a contender. And if there's one team you want to go to, it's the one that finished dead last in the entire league last season. [Yahoo!]
