Live from the Beats By Dr. Dre in New York City, we had the rad pleasure of attending a Q&A/ meet & greet with director Spike Jonze as well as taking in the premiere of his new documentary film "Pretty Sweet
" presented by Girl Films and Chocolate Cinema.
Jonze also hit the Beats Store in NY this past Saturday to launch the special edition "Pretty Sweet" Beats Pill
With Brian Anderson, Rick Howard, Mike Carroll, Alex Olson and Eric Koston all in attendance, Spike gave skate fans a chance to ask anything about the new project. Since we were at the Beats By Dr. Dre store in NY, it made sense for Spike to chat about how important music is in his films.
"Sound is everything. It shapes the picture, especially in skate videos. We spent the last six weeks with Ty Evans, our co-director and editor, sweating it out, trying out different song to different skate parks and trying to get the perfect music for each guy skating. It's crucial. Some of the biggest fights we had were because of which songs we wanted to use."
Beats by Dr. Dre has teamed up with Girl and Chocolate Skateboards to create the first ever custom Beats Pill to be featured in "Pretty Sweet", Spike Jonze's highly anticipated Skateboard documentary.
