Car Chase on Sorcerer's Apprentice Set Not Very Magical

bynathanbloch   May 04, 2009 at 7:13PM  |  Views:  |  Comment

During the filming of The Sorcerer's Apprentice last night (Nicolas Cage's upcoming movie), a scene with a driving stunt in Times Square went very, very wrong.

It involved a Ferrari passing a Mercedes on Seventh Avenue, but the driver lost control of the car and it wound up taking out a lamp post, a bodega, and at least one person was badly injured due to the falling lamp post.

Slash Film posted the video via the New York Post, which you can watch here. And it is worth watching: this is one crazy stunt gone horribly wrong. At this point The Post is reporting that two people are hurt, and apparently neither of them are in serious condition -- but I know that Ferrari's seen better days.
