Elisabetta Canalis Joins the Get Naked for Animals Bandwagon

September 13, 2011 at 3:00PM  |  Views: 6,713

George Clooney's ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis is the latest celebrity who'd rather go naked than wear fur.

Canalis continues to make a splash and grab attention in the wake of her spilt from actor George Clooney. Not only is the sexy Italian model and actress appearing on the next season of Dancing With the Stars, she has stripped off and posed from PETA's iconic "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" campaign.

Elisabetta is one of the hottest "celebrities" in a long time to front the naughty campaign. She is the first Italian to pose nude for PETA and joins the likes of Pamela Anderson, Charlize Theron, and Eva Mendes who have all lent their high profile (and bodies) to the anti-fur cause. The print ad featuring Canalis will soon pop up on billboards around the country.

The 33-year-old stunner explains her reasons for posing in her birthday suit, telling PETA, "I decided to go nude because I think that nudity always creates a big reaction. That is what is required to keep people's attention on such a brutal practice …. These poor animals are electrocuted, skinned alive, drowned, and bludgeoned just for the sake of fashion." She certainly got our attention. Whether or not that helps cute furry animals is another thing.
