New Amazon Kindle DX on Steroids
The Amazon Kindle is getting a facelift and a substantial steroid injection for a new, sleeker version that probably wouldn’t pass Tour de France doping tests.
The newest incarnation of the Amazon e-book reader costs $489 and has more than doubled its screen size to a much more comfortable 9.7 inches. It’s only a third of an inch thick and has auto-rotation (like when you turn an iPhone sideways and the picture flips).
It’s got wireless 3G access, a 4GB hard drive, supports .pdf files natively, and can even read the books for you out loud using its text-to-speech feature.
