The General Lee and The Bandit's Trans-Am Finally Have a Showdown

The General Lee and The Bandit's Trans-Am Finally Have a Showdown

Pop culture is full of great rivalries: Alien vs. Predator, Freddy vs. Jason, Kramer vs. Kramer. One of them has finally been answered (sort of).

Hot Rod magazine found two authentic reproductions of The Dukes of Hazard's General Lee, a supercharged 1969 Dodge Charger, and The Bandit's 1977 Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey & The Bandit and took them for a little joy ride through the Arkansas countryside.

The cars came from collector and builder Mark Osbourne who lent the magazine both of his beauties to tear up the off-roada. The cars don't just roar and handle like their big and small screen counterparts. They are scarily authentic, down to the last detail (or at least the ones I could catch as they zipped past the camera). Even if you're not a fan of the show or the movie, it's worth watching to please the gearhead that every man has living deep down inside them. Source: Hot Rod/YouTube
