Occasionally, weddings are a chance for two young lovers to spend the day expressing their affection and eating overpriced pastries. Other times, nuptials are an opportunity for New Yorkers to boo (and possibly throw garbage) at a man who refused to sign with their team. (Either way, it’s very romantic.)
Over the weekend, Carmelo Anthony vowed to become the first NBA player to stay faithful to his wife in a lavish New York wedding ceremony that will be documented in celebrity tabloid magazines later this week.
The guest list included NBA stars like Amar'e Stoudemire and Chris Paul as well as Fast and the Furious II cast member Ludicrous.
(Noted relationship failures Kim Kardashian and Justin Timberlake also attended the event to ensure that a certain amount of bad luck was present.)
Perhaps the most notable (and controversial) A-lister in attendance was LeBron James.
Just days after telling the New York Knicks that their two-year-long courtship was appreciated, but ineffective, James arrived in the Big Apple amidst a smattering of catcalls from scorned fans.
According to various sources, he was booed while arriving at the affair and enjoyed a healthy dose of dirty looks while inside.
It’s almost like people don’t understand that being a narcissistic dips*** is part of his charm.
