Hancock Sequel Looking Very Likely

bynathanbloch   August 25, 2009 at 2:39PM  |  Views:  |  Comment

Hopefully the news that a Hancock sequel seems to be in the works is going to make some fans happy. At the very least it's going to make the executives at Sony Pictures happy. The first movie earned a cool $228 million. But this poses the question: Just because you can make money, should you?

While both director Peter Berg and actor Will Smith are interested enough in putting together another Hancock movie, people who hated the first don't have to worry about it hitting the big screen any time soon. SciFiWire tells us this about Berg's thoughts, "There might be another God out there. Might be another one."

Berg, of course, is referring to the fact that both Smith and Charlize Theron played immortal beings who were gods trying to live normal lives with the lowly mortals:

They like to fast-track it, but Will's busy, I'm pretty busy. We're excited to do one, but we want the script to be right and the movie to be right. We don't feel a burning imperative to go right back into it.

So what are your thoughts? Should this Hancock sequel get going already, or are you more than happy to take a break from this soon-to-be franchise?
