It's on again, it's off again, it's on again, it's off again. This has been the circle the next Bourne movie has been going in for a long time. Last we heard director Paul Greengrass was having nothing to do with another Bourne film, which prompted Matt Damon to back out as well. So is it back on again?
Empire reports Damon as saying that, while a sequel could still be five years away, a prequel with another actor and director altogether could, in fact, be in the works. That's right: we're looking at another Spider-Man sized reboot in the works.
Damon is quoted as saying, "There’ll probably be a prequel of some kind with another actor and another director before we do another one, just because I think we’re probably another five years away from doing it – we’ve got to get a script…"
How informed is this statement? Is he just giving his wildest guess, or is this straight from the suits at Universal? It's unlikely we're going to find out anytime soon, but if anyone out there has always wanted to play a young Jason Bourne, now's your chance.
