VGA 10: The Best Unaired Acceptance Speeches

It's been almost a full week since VGA 10 and people are still talking about what went down. If you missed it, it was without a doubt our biggest and best awards show yet.

The highlight, perhaps, was seeing Samuel L. Jackson mode. Check out our fantastic host as he takes control of the situation in Halo 4, rescues eggs in Star Wars Angry Birds, has a bad day in Minecraft, performs Black Ops in Call of Duty, and much more.

Yet it doesn't stop there. Contrary to what people assume when they see an animated or CGI character accept an award, the winners aren't informed in advance. That means that all the characters nominated had to have their speeches ready to go just in case they won. Luckily for you, even though Claptrap won and we saw his acceptance speech, we decided to share all of them with you. It's sort of like peering into alternate realities! Cool, right?!

Character of the Year Nominations

Connor is humble and grateful, but we were most amazed by how effective the Vector Monkey can be as a weapon.

Raul Menendez from Call of Duty: Black Ops

Talk about an ungrateful sourpuss. Doesn't anything bring you joy, Raul?

Commander Shepard, Mass Effect

…but which one? And where's the damn award?!

Master Chief, Halo 4

And he wrote the acceptance speech himself! Is there anything this man can't do?!

Check out the speech and dance moves from the winner (in our reality, at least) of the Character of the Year award.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. There are plenty of other videos from the event and bonus content we'll be rolling out all week. Plus, you can actually watch the entire ceremony online – for free - at VGA.spike.com.
