Ghostbusters Director Finally Talks about Ghostbusters 3
Ivan Reitman, the man behind the camera of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2, has finally spoken out publically about the third film that’s presently in the works. He stated, ” There's something in the zeitgeist of the world right now that it feels appropriate. There are some very talented people writing the screenplay.” He goes on, “The most important thing [is] we don't want it to be a disappointment to the people who have sort of taken this very much to their hearts. I feel the responsibility as the producer and director of the original in a very legitimate and real way.” Okay, well, for starters it might be good to keep the original characters that the fanbase loves, rather than recruiting Alyssa Milano and Eliza Dushku to be Ghostbusters – which, independent of any sequel, makes absolutely no sense. Another way to not disappoint fans would be to have Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd write the script and not a couple of sitcom hacks from The Office. But that’s just me. Maybe Reitman will have a few more words of wisdom about this ill-advised film. [First Showing]

Judge Rules it's Legal to Taser Someone for DNA Sample
As long as it is not done "maliciously, or to an excessive extent, or with resulting injury," Niagara County, New York Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza has ruled that using a Taser to obtain a DNA sample is legally valid. Is refusing to give up a DNA sample on the same level as being violent? That is to say, should it be a Taserable offense? [Buffalo News]
Wall Street Journal Blabs About New iPhone Release Next Week
Walt Mossberg of the WSJ is known for getting iPhone hardware weeks ahead of time. During his Palm Pre review this week, it appears he unintentionally confirmed that a new iPhone model will be available next week and that Apple will launch new hardware at WWDC: "I'd note that the new iPhone to be unveiled next week will have lots of added features that could alter those calculations." Seems pretty definitive. [Ptech]
