The Top 10 Bands We Want to See Play the Super Bowl Halftime Show

Over the years, Super Bowl halftime shows have had their share of hits and misses. We're not saying that some of the acts from years past haven't rocked our socks off. We just thought it would be a brilliant idea to put together a wish list for future Super Bowl Sundays. In honor of the Commercial Bowl, let's git-r-done, football fans!

10. Kanye West

Kanye has his detractors, but the guy is amazing at producing classic tracks as well as creating instant controversy on any live TV broadcast he attends. His live performances have also started to get much better, but the main reason he made the list is because he can't help but act like a total free spirit anytime a camera turns on. Can you imagine the hype that would surround the possibility of a Kanye West halftime show? S**t would be bananas, y'all.

9. Willie Nelson

There's just something so right about football when it's combined with classic country music. I'm sure we've all seen an episode of Friday Night Lights and have a solid grasp of how freakin' huge football is in the south. Country jams are no different. That's why I think it would be a perfect fit to class up a Super Bowl halftime special with a performance from none other than the Red Headed Stranger himself. Willie Nelson is obviously a legend in his own right and combining him with America's new pastime would be an effortless fit.

8. Journey

Don't hate, y'all. You damn well know that you love all things Journey, but don't have the guts to say it out loud. Now is the time to throw it on the line and admit that Journey was/is awesome on all fronts and would be a perfect candidate to pump up a stadium full of rabid football fans. Seeing Steve Perry get back together with his Journey homies and throw down "Don't Stop Believin'" one last time could go on to become the greatest sing-alongs in Super Bowl history. It might just be the one and only time fans of rival teams temporally squash their beef and unite around one of the best pop-rockers of all times.

7. Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath

The fact that British bands like The Who have rocked the Super Bowl halftime show in years past pretty much means there is no reason why legendary metal maestros Black Sabbath shouldn't also have their turn to blow the eardrums off of every football fan on the planet. Not only are Ozzy Osbourne and his Sabbath homies beloved by all fans of the heavy metal genre, their classic hard rock gems can be heard at a number of team's stadiums all around the country. "Crazy Train" has been a Pittsburgh Steeler favorite for years now and I can't help but hope that Ozzy will find himself busting it out at a future SB event.

6. Queen

Even though the greatest frontman of all time has been dead for almost 20 years now, I'm still extremely surprised that the remaining members as well as replacement singer Paul Rodgers have yet to rock a Super Bowl stadium. We're talking about a band that has created some of the most inspiring rock anthems the world has ever known. Their material is tailor-made for a sports event as gigantic as the Super Bowl. I'm sure a few Queen die-hards out their would consider something like this a sacrilege, but that animosity will instantly disappear the minute Brian and the boys break into "We Are the Champions."
