Iron Man opened to a huge opening weekend, garnering over $200 million in box office ticket sales worldwide! If you haven’t seen the movie yet, you should get your butts in the theater and check it out. The word of mouth and reviews on the film were unparalleled, but there was also a lot of buzz about the nice surprise audiences received after end credits. This was Marvel’s first fully financed and produced picture and they’ve given us a clue as to what we can expect in its future super hero flicks.

Check out the spoiler end credits video and an interesting tidbit about The Incredible Hulk after the jump.

At the end of the Iron Man film credits, we get a tease into Marvel’s intentions about bringing the Avengers to the big screen. Nick Fury (the head of S.H.I.E.L.D.) wants to talk to Iron Man about the Avenger initiative. In The Incredible Hulk, the second film to be released by Marvel Studios this summer, we see in the credit line that Robert Downey Jr. makes a cameo as Tony Stark…looks like the initiative has already begun!

The Avengers is a superhero team that appear in the Marvel Universe created by Stan Lee. Tagged by the company as "Earth’s Mightiest Heroes", the Avengers originally consisted of Ant-Man, Wasp, Thor, Iron Man, and the Hulk. The roster has been constantly changing with Captain America, Spiderman and even Wolverine at some point having been a part of the team. The rotating roster has become a hallmark of the team to fight the bad guys no single superhero can withstand. Imagine a movie with Spider-man (Toby Mcguire), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), The Hulk (Ed Norton) and Iron Man (Robert  Downey Jr.) all cast in one film. That would be one hell of a movie!
