January a Good Month for Hollywood

by nathanbloch   February 02, 2009 at 5:42PM  |  Views: 32

Hollywood pulled in over a billion dollars this past January, despite all the woes of the economy. And why, exactly, was January such a profitable month? Well, the answer is obvious: Paul Blart: Mall Cop, that movie you went and saw when you were so inebriated you thought the laces on your shoes were foot-worms.

That and Gran Torino were some of the movies that rocketed Hollywood's collective bank account during one of the worst months the U.S. economy has seen in the last sixty years. So for those of you who are out of work, under-employed, or simply poor, rest assured: Hollywood is doing just fine.
