The final chapter in a story that Roman Polanski would deem “too disturbing” to turn into a Hugh Grant-style romantic comedy has finally come to a court-ordered close.
After a small misunderstanding involving alleged domestic abuse, weird sex acts, and the character defamation of a football star looking to score an endorsement deal with Wal-Mart (seriously), Tila Tequila and Shawne Merriman have put their differences aside the old fashioned way – with a team of lawyers and non-disclosed mutual agreement.
For those of you who don’t remember, several months ago Tequila alleged that Merriman physically abused her (despite the police not actually charging him), leading the football star to subsequently countersue her, claiming that the reality show reject was ruining the reputation he worked hard to build while sitting out four games for violating the NFL’s steroid policy last year. Ironically enough, “being associated with Tila Tequila” was not mentioned in Merriman’s complaints.
The two entered a private settlement that not even the crack team of Spike.com’s investigative court reporters could steal, so we don’t know the admission of guilt or who paid whom what to keep quiet.
All we do know is that, as expected, this story has a fairytale ending.
