Mantenna - Wednesday, October 8

by spike.com   October 08, 2008 at 8:45PM  |  Views: 123

Find out why Halle Berry is celebrating, who Hugh Hefner's shacking up with now that he and Holly Madison have called it quits, and what South Park fans are going to be really, really excited about.  It's all after the jump in today's Mantenna!

Halle Berry Somehow Considered "Sexiest Woman Alive"

Esquire magazine has named Halle Berry the sexiest woman alive. The 42-year-old actress who earlier this year gave birth to her first child was flattered by winning the title, though she didn’t exactly know what it meant and sarcastically wondered why she didn’t win the year she was a Bond girl. She told the magazine "I like being a mother. I like my body better since I became a mother. I feel sexier as a result of becoming a mother." [Esquire]

Hugh Hefner Moves On

Hugh Hefner is moving on from The Girls Next Door. One of the girls, Holly Madison, has dumped Hugh because he refuses to settle down or have children. Hef is apparently feeling “down in the dumps” about the break-up. There are also reports that Kendra and Bridget will soon move out of the Playboy mansion. Not to worry, Hef has apparently already replaced Holly with twins. Yes, twins. 19-year-old sisters Kristina and Karissa Shannon are reported to soon be joining Hef in the mansion and they are super hot. That’s how you deal with a break-up when you’re the greatest dude on earth. [AP]

New Poster for Punisher: War Zone

image

No one really seems to know what’s going on with the new Punisher movie, but there’s a new poster out for it. After a whole lot of jibber-jabbering about what rating it was going to get, it finally got an R rating, which probably pleased most Punisher fans. It would be kind of tricky to have an awesome Punisher movie where he runs around punching people in the shoulder. [FirstShowing.net]

An Extract from Extract

Mike Judge is busy shooting his new film Extract, starring Jason Bateman, J.K. Simmons and Mila Kunis. During an on-set visit with ComingSoon.net, Judge discusses how this film follows in the footsteps of Office Space and Idiocracy, and Jason Bateman talks about the production process of making Extract. It’s been a while since we’ve seen much from Judge, and hopefully this will mark his re-entrance into the world of movies. He is too funny a filmmaker to let float away. [ComingSoon.net]

South Park Working on iPhone App

image

Boing Boing is reporting that the boys at South Park Digital over in Venice, CA are almost ready to unveil their iPhone app.  They’re no strangers to online innovation as they were one of the first and most successful programs to offer their content online.  And, I would argue, their interface is still the best.  The app will be able to stream clips, browse SP wallpapers, and allow you to assign character avatars to your most Cartman/Kyle/Mr. Hanky-est friends. Netflix adds $1 Surcharge for Blu-ray

The online rental service Netflix has added a dollar-per-month additional surcharge for those users who want to access Blu-ray content from the Netflix library.  If you’re already a Blu-ray subscriber, be warned that they fee is automatically instituted.  If you no longer want to subscribe to this dollar-per-month-extra service, go to their site to cancel. Honda Unveils V4 Motorcycle Concept

image

Honda has just pulled the covers off a radical new concept motorcycle at the Intermot show in Cologne, Germany. While still in the early stages of development, Honda is feverishly working on a new V4 engine and that will soon show up in a production bike. Rumor has it that the Japanese company is taking another look at oval pistons, which would allow for more valves and larger combustion chambers. While this is currently nothing more than a sculpture, so was the new VMax when Yamaha first showed that concept. According to Honda, this design is a "new beginning" for the company and the direction that it's headed. Fingers crossed. [Hell For Leather]
