The Game Gets Owned By Slipknot

September 3, 2008

Slipknot's brand new record All Hope Is Gone barely won out against The Game's LAX in the race for No. 1 on The Billboard 200 this week.

The Iowa metal outfit moved 239,516 copies in the United States, only 1,134 more than the West Coast rapper's Geffen album at 238,382. The Maggots have finally won!
This marks the first No. 1 for the masked metal militia, who scored a No. 2 with 2004's Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses On the other hand, Game's last two efforts, 2006's Doctor's Advocate and 2005's The Documentary, both debuted at No. 1.

Heavy metal beat out rap on the Billboard charts?! What is the world coming to?

Maybe this means Disney pop stars will start covering Pantera tunes when they perform at giant shopping malls. One can only dream. Metal!
