bydsussman   December 15, 2009 at 3:00PM  |  Views:  |  Comment

All-knowing music site Pitchfork.com has officially announced their list of the Top 100 Songs Of 2009, and I’m pretty sure you can guess what songs landed in the top spots.

Here’s the Top 20:

20. Japandroids - "Young Hearts Spark Fire"
19. Joker - "Digidesgin"
18. The Big Pink - "Dominos"
17. Fuck Buttons - "Surf Solar"
16. The xx - "Crystalised"
15. Girls - "Hellhole Ratrace"
14. Joy Orbison - "Hyph Mngo"
13. Neon Indian - "Deadbeat Summer"
12. Grizzly Bear - "While You Wait for the Others"
11. Animal Collective - "What Would I Want? Sky"
10. Washed Out - "Feel It All Around"
9. Girls - "Lust for Life"
8. Phoenix - "Lisztomania"
7 Big Boi [Feat. Gucci Mane] - "Shine Blockas"
6. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "Zero"
5. Grizzly Bear - "Two Weeks"
4. Bat For Lashes - "Daniel"
3. Phoenix - "1901"
2. Dirty Projectors - "Stillness Is the Move"
1. Animal Collective - "My Girls"

On an indie level, this list is pretty much what I expected outta the peeps over at Pitchfork. It would have been nice to see some metal or deeper hip-hop/rap cuts take up some room in the top 20. Either way, this list really isn’t all that surprising.

Hit P-Fork to check out the entire list as well as hipter ramblings about what makes these songs so special...
