Kim Jong-Il’s Son Had the Bestest Birthday Ever!

According to, the son of America’s favorite dictator is celebrating his undisclosed birthday in style this year thanks to an onslaught of super fantastic presents. According to Yahoo!, “The country's leadership struggles to feed the population of 24 million. But sports cars, racehorses, and yachts would not be out of the question — even perhaps an iPad for a young man said to favor technology, said Park In-ho, managing editor at the Daily NK, a Seoul-based Internet news outlet that focuses on North Korean affairs.” [Yahoo!]

Investigation Into The Death Of Notorious B.I.G. is Back On

Even though no one has ever been convicted for the 1997 murder of Christopher Wallace, it’s being reported that a group of local and federal law enforcement agencies are back on track and still looking for the unknown killer. According to CNN, the investigation includes the Los Angeles Police Department, L.A. County District Attorney's Office, and the FBI. Let’s hope these guys can get together and bring the a-hole who killed one of the greatest ever to justice. RIP Biggie. [CNN]

Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch is Almost Cancer-Free

According to recent reports, 18 months after he was first diagnosed with the disease, Beastie Boys’ Adam Yauch (MCA) has been given the news that he’s 100% free of cancer. Yauch was forced to freeze all things Beasties after doctors found a tumor in his parotid gland back in July 2009. Just months after having the lump removed, Yauch boasted that he was "feeling healthy, strong, and hopeful." After this amazing news broke, fellow bandmate Mike D stated that the Beasties' plans to release the second part of Hot Sauce Committee this Spring is back on track now that Yauch has overcome his illness. Glad to have you back, MCA. [Seattle PI]

Free Speech No Longer Extended to Canadian Hockey

A local reporter decided to write some not-so-nice things about the Kamploops Blazers. Naturally, the team reacted in a professional manner. “Just before Christmas, the general manager of the Western Hockey League's Kamloops Blazers, Craig Bonner, hand delivered a three-page letter to the offices of The Kamloops Daily News. It informed the paper that reporter Gregg Drinnan – who has covered the team for 10 years – would no longer be allowed to interview team staff, coaches, or players.” That'll teach him to express his views! Ed Reed’s Brother Shows Game

Nobody can stop Ed Reed on the football field when he picks up a full head of steam. Sadly for law enforcement officials, a similar sentiment also rings true for his brother. According to WWLTV, "Brian Reed jumped into a river while running from police this morning." St. Charles deputies saw a black vehicle parked along side River Road near the parish line. The vehicle matched the description of a car that ran another off road along River Road. As deputies were questioning the man inside the car, the vehicle came back as stolen over the police radio, according to LaGrange.  As deputies were handcuffing the man, he broke loose and ran over the levee and was seen by deputies diving into the river. The man did not resurface, according to deputies. [WWLTV]
