Chris Martin is a Thief

I’m assuming most everybody on the planet has seen the new iTunes commercial featuring the Coldplay single "Viva La Vida.” Wellz…the indie Brooklyn band Creaky Boards are now claiming that Coldplay ripped them off.

Creaky songwriter Andrew Hoepfner claims Chris Martin saw them perform "The Songs I Didn't Write" at CMJ 2007 and then proceeded to steal the opening melody for Coldpaly's "Viva La Vida." Burp.

I don’t really know what to think about this one. The two melodies sound almost identical, but it’s such a simple tune that it could just be a coincidence. Good thing Creaky Boards made a video to bring their claims to light. Decide for yourself Coldplay fans…
