Rep. Weiner Exposed

One week after U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner denied posting a photo of his crotch on Twitter, the Congressman has changed his tune. While Weiner initially said a hacker uploaded the racy picture, an emotional Weiner today admitted to posting the naughty image. Weiner said, “To be clear, the picture was of me, and I sent it. I'm deeply sorry for the pain this has caused my wife, and our family, my constituents, my friends, my supporters, and my staff." Weiner said he posted the Twitter photo accidentally as a “joke” and then “panicked,” adding, “I lied because I was ashamed at what I had done, and I didn't want to get caught.” Weiner also admitted to conducting inappropriate online relationships with six different women through Facebook and Twitter. Weiner called his behavior “dumb,” “destructive,” and “deeply, deeply hurtful.” The Congressman says he will not resign and wishes to get back to work. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has called for a congressional ethics investigation into Weiner’s behavior. [CNN]

Paris Hilton’s Show Bombs

Paris Hilton’s foray back into reality television isn’t going according to plan. The celebutante’s new show The World According to Paris debuted to dismal ratings and Paris has scaled back promotion of the show after a disastrous appearance on The View. Hilton was slammed by hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Barbara Walters who called the show “frivolous.” According to Page Six, “Walters criticized Hilton for complaining in the first episode about her 200 hours of community service. She also questioned Hilton's claims of doing charity work and her desire to help other female prisoners -- neither of which is seen on the Oxygen show. Walters asked, "Why not present that side of yourself, if indeed it exists?” Only about 400,000 people watched Hilton’s new show on Oxygen, which is nearly half the audience of Aubrey O’Day’s reality television show on the same network. If the numbers don’t improve it could be yanked off air. Hilton blamed the network for the low ratings citing a technical mistake that caused the show to air at the incorrect time. [New York Post]

Time to get excited, Juggalos! Or anyone who’s not a Juggalo, for that matter. Pretty much anyone will be thrilled to know that the Gathering of the Juggalos is returning for its 12th annual event. This self-described “Juggalo Woodstock” should have all the insanity you’ve come to except from the mayhem-inducing fans of Insane Clown Posse. Firebreathing, wrestling, helicopter rides, midget strippers…Will all of these things be there? Actually, we don’t know. But we’re pretty sure the 27-minute-long commercial for the fest will explain it all. Better make popcorn for this one. [Videogum]

Movie Theater Gets Ultimate Revenge on Terrible Patron

You hate those people that use their cell phones during movies, don’t you? Unless you’re a completely horrible person, of course you do. Which is why it’s so sweet that one of these horrible people got their come-uppance recently, courtesy of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema chain in Austin, Texas. Pro-tip: If you’re going to leave an angry voicemail, you might want to keep in mind that the name of this great nation is not pronounced “Magnited States of America” lest your tirade becomes part of the theater’s latest PSA. Comedy gold. [Alamo Drafthouse Cinema]
