Katy Perry Gets Political

Katy Perry Admits She’s Part of the Problem

Stop the presses! Katy Perry has delved into politics and she’s got something to say (well, kind of). The busty pop star has spoken out in Rolling Stone, spouting her political views on big money, health, and how society is fame-obsessed. She said, “It just feels like the thing running our country is a bank, money," she tells the magazine. "I think we are largely in desperate need of revolutionary change in the way our mindset is. Our priority is fame, and people's wellness is way low. I saw this knowing full well that I'm a part of the problem. I'm playing the game, though I am trying to reroute. Anyway, not to get all politically divulging and introspective, but the fact that America doesn't have free health care drives me f***ing absolutely crazy, and is so wrong.” In the exact same interview Perry also talks about her best (and let's face it, career-defining) asset… her breasts. She says, “I started praying for [breasts] when I was, like, 11, and God answered that prayer above and beyond, by, like, 100 times, until I was like, 'Please, stop, God. I can't see my feet anymore. Please stop!'” Yep, it won’t be long until Katy Perry is President. [Rolling Stone]

The Boston Bruins’ $156,679.74 Foxwood Bar Tab

In one of the most awesome posts seen on the Internet in quite some time, the good folks over at SixteenWins.com recently put up a picture of the Stanley Cup-winning Boston Bruins’ bar tab after the apparently insane celebration that went down after their big win over Vancouver last week. It’s not confirmed that the Twittered pic is 100% legit, but who really cares? It just adds to the awesomeness of hockey. So whether or not there was a $100,000 bottle of champagne up in the mix, either way, this is so freakin’ badass, guys. Hit the link to check out the debauchery. [SixteenWins]

Grammy-winner Glen Campbell, probably best known for his country pop classic "Rhinestone Cowboy," has sadly been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. According to an interview in People with Campbell and his wife Kim, the pair officially announced to fans the seriousness of his condition. "Glen is still an awesome guitar player and singer," said his wife. "But if he flubs a lyric or gets confused on stage, I wouldn't want people to think, 'What's the matter with him? Is he drunk?'" As for Glen himself, he’s still in high spirits and still loves to throw down in the studio as well as on the live stage. "I still love making music," Campbell said. "And I still love performing for my fans. I'd like to thank them for sticking with me through thick and thin." Hang in there, Glen. [People]

Octomom to Join Celebrity Dating Show

Nadya Suleman, a.k.a Octomom, is set to join a new celebrity dating show on HDNET called Celebridate. Suleman excitedly spoke to PopEater about her involvement in the show, saying, “I was lucky enough to be invited to be a part of it. I have not watched TV in almost a decade, but I might just tune into this one! I don't perceive myself to be a celebrity, but I guess they do. To a certain degree, I am in the public eye.” Participating in the dating show is not only a chance for Suleman to earn a few extra bucks, it also marks her reentry into the dating scene. Suleman shockingly reveals, “I've never dated. This is actually the first time I have dated in my life. I've had one boyfriend, and it was very fascinating to me; it was an unforgettable experience. I am painfully shy and anxious. That's just my personality. So it's difficult for me to interact and to have eye contact.” It’s going to take one special, special man to fall for a mother of 14 who has difficulty making eye contact. [PopEater]
