Comic-Con 2011: Spielberg Confirms Jurassic Park 4 Will Rise from the Primordial Ooze

The Jurassic Park franchise is no longer a trilogy. It's a four-ilogy.

The long running series of dinosaurs eating d-bags (lawyers, corporate overlords, did I mention lawyers?) will get a fourth film, according to director and series producer Steven Spielberg, in 2013 or 2014.

His announcement came during a panel for the new TinTin movie, The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, a Dreamworks picture that Spielberg also directed. When he made the announcement that the dinosaurs would return to the screen, the panel may as well just have been called "Who in the hell is Tintin and why won't you just talk about Jurassic Park 4 some more?"

Spielberg said that right now, he only has a story and is currently talking with screenwriter Mark Prostosevich, the writer behind I Am Legend and Thor, about a new script for the franchise. He also said it should be ready in the next "two or three years," barring any unforeseen setbacks, mishaps, or Raptor outbreaks.
