Tron-Themed NES Really Lights Up the Room

bybradiger   June 02, 2010 at 2:34PM  |  Views:  |  Comment

At first glance, this mod might seem somewhat pedestrian. It's just an old Nintendo with some stickers on it. But then the lights go out.

The mad scientists at Thretris have come up with some great improvements for Nintendo's classic '80s hardware, and in the process made it look like something out of the movie Tron. The Glowing Tron NES is pretty much what it says it is: it's a working Nintendo Entertainment System, complete with improved stereo sound, done up to look like a Tron character. And yeah, this puppy glows.

But the best part? For $250, you can actually have one of your own!
