Russell Brand Could be a Sparrow

Rumors that might not be totally baseless are going around that Russell Brand (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) could play Jack Sparrow's brother in the next installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Right now he says, "I’ve got eight other things to do… So I don’t know if there’ll be time to be a pirate, I’ve got enough of that in me private life." He doesn't completely rule the possibility out, though.

Brand goes on to say that it's "A possibility, yes. I think it’s a possibility." So would Brand outshine Depp as a member of the Sparrow clan?

Things have really picked up for the British comedian after his turn as Aldous Snow in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, a role he's reprising in Get Him to the Greek in a Judd Apatow project. Would he be too over-the-top for Pirates, or just right? At this point it's looking like his participation in the project could go either way.
