Xbox 360's Retro-Themed "Game Room" is Live and Ready for Your Virtual Quarters

As of this morning, Xbox Live's arcade room-style virtual space, the Game Room, has been rolled out, and brings with it the ability to relive some awesome games from the '70s and '80s, from Atari 2600 hits to standup arcade machine classics.

Available now from the Xbox Live Marketplace, getting into the Game Room will require you to download two "Game Packets" and the Game Room itself. Once in, you'll have the ability to check out the initial offering of more than 30 old school titles. Microsoft promises to expand this library to over 1,000 games as time goes on.

For Microsoft's equivalent of 50 cents, players can play a game once or purchase the title for the equivalent of $3 for either the PC or Xbox 360. For $5, players can purchase it for both.
