Rihanna’s Hair Cost Could Feed a Small Army
Rihanna changes hairstyles like Lady Gaga changes outfits. Since late last year the Barbadian pop star has dramatically altered her locks 13 times. But all that change comes with a cost and it's astronomical.
The pop singer reportedly shells out a staggering $23,000 a week just to alter and keep her hair looking F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S. That adds up to over a $1 million a year. On. Her. Hair. Do you know how many $1 McDonalds cheeseburgers that could buy (okay, that's a easy one) or how many Christian Children's Fund kiddies you could sponsor? It's a lot (over 3,000 a year). Imagine the number of Lady Gaga's wigs Rihanna could buy for $1 million.
Now, most of the cash goes to stylist Ursula Stephens. One of Rihanna's entourage tried explaining the exuberant costs to British newspaper The Daily Mirror, saying, "She makes several public appearances a week, and the cost soon stacks up. Ursula is a close confidante and they are together all the time. You have to wonder why she insists on keeping such an expensive member of her entourage on the payroll 24/7." The unidentified entourage member makes a good point. Why would Rihanna pay all that money on her hair? Well, it's because she doesn't. The unidentified entourage member explains it, saying, "Most of these costs are paid for by her management." Of course they pay for her hair. And of course Rihanna spends their money. Who wouldn't spend a $1 million on their hair if it was available? Right?
