Megan Fox's former Transformers costar Shia LaBeouf has helped explain why the sexy actress did not return to the third installment of the hit film franchise. It's because she's a feminist. Duh. In an interview with The Los Angeles Times LaBeouf said, "Megan developed this Spice Girl strength, this woman-empowerment [stuff] that made her feel awkward about her involvement with [director] Michael Bay, who some people think is a very lascivious filmmaker, the way he films women." Mr. LaBeouf goes on to explain that Fox did not like being viewed as a sex object and had a difficult time dealing with instant fame and becoming the "sexiest woman in America" overnight. The actor said, "This is a girl who was taken from complete obscurity and placed in a sex-driven role in front of the whole world and told she was the sexiest woman in America. And she had a hard time accepting it." Victoria's Secret girl Rosie Huntington-Whiteley will take over for Fox and play La Beouf's sexy love interest in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. 14-year-old Wins National Spelling Bee

14-year-old 8th grader Sukanya Roy of South Abington Township, Pennsylvania walked away with the trophy for the Scripps National Spelling Bee today. Her third time competing in the Bee, Sukanya beat out dozens of other students and also took home over $40,000 in cash and prizes. The marathon contest has been part of the national spotlight since the 1999 documentary Spellbound, which chronicled the trials and tributions of the contestants and their families. So what was this year's winning word? Cymotrichous. Yeah, we don't know what that is either. [SF Gate]
