In association with the Iraq Veterans Against the War and Tent State University, Rage Against The Machine will play a free show on Aug. 27 at the Denver Coliseum during the Democratic National Convention. Ugh!
The musical set is part of the Tent State Music Festival to End the War, and will also feature Flobots, the Coup, State Radio and Wayne Kramer.
"The message of the band is highly inspirational," Jeff Englehart, president of the Denver Chapter of the Iraq Veterans Against the War, said at a press conference Thursday morning at Cuernavaca Park. "And it'll drive attention. A band like Rage Against The Machine has a lot of clout." Duh.
I just find it funny that these people want to use one of the most aggressive bands on the planet to promote peace. Good luck, hippies.
Tickets will be given away for free by lottery. Fans can sign up by presenting a photo ID at Cuernavaca Park at the university's campus starting Aug. 24 through Aug. 26 from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The all-ages event is set to begin at 11 a.m. Here's a classic to get you ready...
