What treasures lie hidden within the deepest, darkest trenches of the ocean floor? SPIKE's latest unscripted original series, Diamond Divers
, seeks to answer that question when it premieres on June 20 at 10/9c.
The six one-hour episodes of the series will chronicle the journey of Captain John
and his crew as they risk life and limb to uncover precious diamonds that are just waiting to be plucked from the South African seas.
It's one thing to go mining for diamonds above ground, but it's another to dive in to cold, shark-infested waters and put everything on the line. Not only will this rag-tag band of sailors and divers have to be on their toes because of razor-toothed man-eating aquatic creatures, but they'll also be faced with poachers
and some of the roughest waters on the planet. Even the location the boys will be stationed at will send chills down your spine – "Skeleton Coast." Luckily, Captain John isn't going on this journey alone, as he'll have his whole crew to help: J.R.
, the master mechanic, Marty
, the expert divers, Doc
, the medic and cook aboard, and Jason
, his son who is ready for anything. The crew is contracted by the international company Panda Marine, a diamond mining and exploration company specializing in marine mining. Tune in to Diamond Divers
