In a recent video posted on his Twitter, Shaquille O'Neal officially announced to the world that he will be retiring after 19 years of play in the NBA. In his video, Shaq stated: "We did it. Nineteen years baby. I want to thank you very much, that's why I'm telling you first, I'm about to retire. Love you, talk to you soon." Easily one of the most dominating players of all time, I seriously wouldn’t be surprised if he made it into the Hall of Fame in the next few years. You’ll be missed, sir. At least we will always have Shaq Fu for Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo to remind us of the golden years. [Yahoo!]

The Grilled Cheese Gets a Side of Technology

The founder of the Flip camera, Jonathan Kaplan, is turning his attention to the grilled cheese. The digital video recorder whiz kid unveiled his new restaurant concept called The Melt at this year’s D9 tech conference. Kaplan told audience members, “Grilled cheese makes people happy. We've created technology to make the perfect grilled cheese.” The technology component of Kaplan’s business plan is a smartphone app that helps consumers create the perfect grilled cheese. Consumer can order a sandwich or meal combo on their phone, customize it and pick it up using a specially generated QR code. Kaplan has received about $10 million from venture capital firm Sequoia to invest in opening up to 20 stores around the country. Each store will cost somewhere between $500,000 and $1 million. The first five stores will open in San Francisco by the end of the summer. Sequoia has previously backed tech companies such as Apple, Google, and Oracle. [CNET]

Blake Lively Says Nude Pics are Fakes

The Internet was abuzz overnight as nude picture of actress Blake Lively supposedly made the rounds. The pics, allegedly showing Blake in the buff holding a smartphone, surfaced on numerous websites including Perez Hilton, What Would Tyler Durden Do, and Egotastic. But alas, the photos are fakes. Reps for the actress released a statement saying, “The photos of Blake Lively which have just surfaced on various websites including Perez Hilton and Zap2it.com are 100 percent FAKE. Blake has never taken nude photos of herself. Blake will pursue legal action against the publication which initially published these photographs and any other outlets that republish them in any manner.” Whoever crafted the fakes should go into money counterfeiting. They are that good. [New York Daily News]
