BMW Makes Least Useful GPS Ever

March 2, 2009

BMW is developing a new kind of navigation system for its vehicles called the Intelligent Learning Navigation System. The basic idea is that the system learns your habits and plans routes based on them. There's only one problem with this scenario...

The system figures out when you go to work each day, and when you go to the grocery store each week – things like that.  Then, by the time you get in the car, it’s got your route already planned for you.

The thing is, who on Earth outside of Alzheimer’s patients needs a damn GPS to figure out how to get to the job they go to every day or the grocery store they’ve been going to for a year?
