Verizon Gets Its Own Superphone, The Droid X
After weeks of rumor and speculation, it's been confirmed that the Droid X, made by Motorola for use on the Verizon network, is real. And the specs its packing make this one worth waiting for.
It could easily be construed as Verizon's answer to Sprint's HTC EVO 4G offering as it sports similar specs:
- 4.3 inch, 854x480 resolution touchscreen display
- 8 megapixel camera with 720p video recording
- HDMI output
- 1Ghz TI OMAP processor
- 8GB internal storage (plus a microSD slot)
Also like the EVO, it can be used as a hotspot for tethering up to five other devices to its internet connection, though you'll pay an additional monthly fee to do so.
Though it lacks the front facing camera and the (albeit currently limited) 4G network powers of the EVO (and the kickstand!), it is coming to one of the most widely-praised 3G networks available in America.
It is, however, pretty big. Too big? You be the judge - here it is seen alongside its HTC competitor and an iPhone:
