Lindsay Lohan to be Arrested | SPIKE

A warrant for Lindsay Lohan’s arrest has been issued after the troubled actress failed to show up today at a scheduled court date in Los Angeles. Lohan, who says she is stuck in France at the Cannes Film Festival, is expected to be arrested once she flies back into the U.S.

Lohan was due to court today over charges stemming from a DUI. The 23-year-old actress tried to dodge today’s court date by saying she had her passport stolen and could not fly back into the United States in time for the hearing. There is now some major doubt over validity of this claim. Firstly it is being reported that French police have no records of Lohan reporting her passport “stolen.” Secondly, Lohan reportedly had appearances scheduled in Cannes for later this week. Thirdly, Lohan could've had a new passport issued in time to return to the United States and face court.

The judge in charge of Ms. Lohan’s case did not take kindly to her absence. Lohan’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley tried to explain Lohan’s situation, to which Judge Revel responded, “Actions speak louder than words.” Revel said Lohan had "a history of not keeping scheduled appointments" and could have made it back to the U.S. on time with a replacement passport.

The judge issued a warrant for Lohan’s arrest, setting bail at $100,000 and ordering Lohan to cease from consuming alcohol, wear a SCRAM bracelet  (which detects if the wearer ingests alcohol), and submit to random drug testing once a week until her next court hearing. It will be interesting to see how long Lohan lasts without a drop of liquor!

Lohan will be arrested at customs once her plane touches down on U.S. soil.
