Professional golfer and noted cupcake collector Phil Mickelson is feeling a little lonely. Apparently something’s missing in his life (you know, besides a workout plan and decent putting game).
“The game of golf needs him back,” Mickelson told reporters about Tiger Woods today. “I don't want to talk about it publicly for the reason that we're friends and we have a personal relationship, and I just don't feel ... I feel like it's a violation of our trust and our relationship.”
Mickelson explained that Woods is such an important draw to the game and a tremendous asset for competitive reasons. "I mean, it's important for him to come back and be a part of the sport.”
Honestly, I agree.
Cheating on his wife was an extraordinarily cowardly thing to do. He used awful judgment and should have to deal with the ramifications. But the sporting world is built for second chances, and at this point it would serve the famous lothario well to get back on the golf course and remind everyone why we cared about his “mistress-a-thon” in the first place.
