LG Claims It's New Remote Control is "Magic"

December 27, 2011

Being able to watch the big game from your favorite chair while pausing, rewinding and recording it live with one remote is enough magic for most TV watchers. LG Electronics claims that they have managed to inject more magic into the traditional TV remote.

The second generation edition of their "Magic Motion Remote Control" will appear at next year's CES. The remote will become standard for their Cinema 3D Smart TVs and features.

The "magic" comes from the motion controlled interface. The first model just offered Wii-like motion controls to browse through channels for button-free channel flipping, but the newest version offers awider ranger of motion control options. The newest version offers voice recognition, a touch wheel and a wider range of motion control options. The expanded interface will come in handy now that LG will start offering over 1,000 apps for their smart TVs.

With all the new electronics and gadgets CES 2012 in Las Vegas is going to be absolutely phenomenal. Best part? As the official broadcaster of the entire event, SPIKE is going to give viewers at home an All Access pass to see what goes behind the closed doors of CES 2012: exclusives, celebrities, special guests, and surprises that you won't find anywhere else - and it all starts on January 10.
