Miley Cyrus is in the midst of sexing up her image. The 17-year-old has been criticized of late for showing to much skin. But don’t worry, she’s not “slutty” because she’s “not trying to be slutty.” Hmmm…
The Disney starlet who rose to fame on the back of Hannah Montana turns 18 in November and already she’s started to vamp up her image. Miley has a new album, Can’t Be Tamed, coming out soon and in promoting it she has started to wear much more provocative outfits. The singer is showing a lot of leg and a lot more skin. On her new look Miley says, "I'm not trying to be 'slutty. I'm not trying to be like, go to the club and get a bunch of guys ... What I'm trying to do is to make a point with my record and look consistent, in the way my record sounds and the way I dress.” Many have criticized the music video for the single "Can’t Be Tamed," which shows Miley dancing provocatively in a cage. What Miley doesn’t realize is she’s a role model to many young, impressionable girls who will copy her look, style, and dance moves.
Miley feels that she should be allowed to wear what she likes. She says, “I'm really comfortable with my body, I work really hard to be fit and to know that I can wear whatever makes me most comfortable. I feel more comfortable dressing with a little less, which is just how I've always been. Now I'm able to do that a little more freely and, also, I've just grown up to be this way too. It's not like this was me five years ago. It's me now, presently.” At least she has a healthy attitude to body image, right?
Heaven knows how she’ll dress once she’s no longer a minor!
