UFC officially announced today that UFC 105 will be broadcast free on Spike TV, via tape delay from MEN Arena in Manchester, England on November 14.
Michael Bisping will take on Denis Kang, and emerging star Dan Hardy will fight Dong Hyun Kim for the headliners, though UFC.com mentions that there is one more main event yet to be announced.
After his crushing defeat to Dan Henderson at UFC 100, Michael Bisping has been eager to get back into the cage and back to winning ways, but the UFC isn’t giving him any breaks with the battle-tested Kang. Even though he’s only 1-1 since joining the UFC earlier this year, Kang has more than 45 pro fights with wins over guys like Akihiro Gono and Murilo Rua. He’s a dangerous opponent, who knows this is a must-win situation, which means Bisping needs to be on top of his game if he wants to hold onto any hopes of a title shot in the near future.
According to UFC.com, Bisping said, “Kang is a very good fighter and one of the best in the division. This is exactly the sort of fight I need to get right back up there and prove that I’m one of the top guys in the division.
“I’ve watched Kang’s fights over the years and he is very dangerous on the ground with his submissions and is also a powerful striker on his feet. Plus, he’s an explosive fighter. He can explode into a huge strike or takedown from nowhere, which makes him very unpredictable.”
Kang has the kind of relentless attack that should make for some fireworks against Bisping.
Dan Hardy could be in for a defining moment in his career with this fight against Dong Hyun Kim. Hardy is on a six-fight winning streak and will look to improve to a 4-0 record in the UFC. A win against Kim could catapult him to the top of the division, showing the UFC that’s he’s ready to graduate to true top competition.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, September 14 and will be available via ticketmaster.co.uk and the MEN Arena box office from 10AM.
