HP's New Glass Laptop Strikes a Surprising Blow Against the MacBook Air

byDannyGallagher   January 11, 2012 at 11:00AM  |  Views:  |  Comment

Apple may not be a regular attendee of the Consumer Electronic Show, but that didn't stop some of its competitors from firing a few shots at their popular MacBook Air.

Hewlett Packard's newest laptop, the ENVY 14 Spectre, could make for some interesting competition against Apple's lightweight laptops and others of its kind. Not only is the Spectre ultra light and thin, but it's covered in a very sleek, scratch-resistant glass.

Stylish it may be, but here's where form meets function: The glass displays offer touch sensitivity, allowing an extra source of control when the laptop is closed. The Spectre also comes with Beats Audio and can wirelessly link to four audio devices at once. The laptop will hit the store shelves in early February.
