J.Lo Still Hurting After Fall

Jennifer Lopez is still in pain after her spectacular fall while performing at the American Music Awards. The bootylicious diva appeared on the Ellen show saying she still has a “bruised bone” as a result of the unfortunate accident. The actress, singer and mother of twins displayed a sense of humor when discussing the incident, blaming unexpected sweat from her barebacked back-up dancers for the fall. She also says she was so caught up in the excitement of performing that she didn’t really now she’d fallen until after the performance. What a trouper! [People]

Tori and Mom Reconcile

Just in time for the holidays, Tori Spelling and her mother Candy have buried the hatchet and reconciled.  According to Candy, the two are in now in touch and have put their estrangement behind them. Candy says the relationship is private and she’s happy with it. She also says she’s spent time with Tori’s two children, recently meeting toddler Stella for the first time. Oh, happy families! Johnny Depp Could Be Pancho Villa

Johnny Depp is the man to go to if you need someone to play Spanish literary heroes. Serbian director Emir Kusturica is in talks to get Depp to play Pancho Villa, the Mexican revolutionary who also wrote a book about himself at the beginning of the 20th century. Salma Hayek is also being vetted to appear in the movie. Based on The Friends of Pancho Villa, the memoir by Villa, the book’s story revolves around Villa and co. robbing from the rich, starting fisticuffs, and carousing with women. Sounds like something Depp could handle. [Variety]

Leonardo DiCaprio is Jack Frost

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio is taking a plunge into the icy world of computer animation with The Guardians. He’s going to do the voice of Jack Frost, who teams up with other greats like Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and the Sandman. They all fight against an evil spirit named Pitch who’s trying to scare the living crap out of kids all over the planet, and thus (somehow) take over the world. The movie is based on a series of books by William Joyce that have not yet been published called The Guardians of Childhood. This sounds a lot like the Nightmare Before Christmas, minus the genius of Tim Burton. [/Film]

Lily Allen has confirmed that she'll be taking "one or two years off from recording and performing music" starting in March 2010. Allen revealed that she’ll use the time off to start her own record label, set up a fashion store with her sister, and "spend some time in the home I've built for myself". Speaking with Radio 1's Sara Cox Lily stated: "My last gig is my Dizzee Rascal concert at the O2 (London) in March. That's the last thing I've got planned. I'm just going to concentrate on doing some behind-the-scenes sort of stuff." [Holly Scoop]

Finally, a Negative Story About the Professional Sports World

After months of speculation, former NBA referee and convicted scumbag (or wire fraud assailant, if you're into technical legal terms) has found a publisher for his book about how he rigged NBA games, gambled on basketball, and tried to ruin the careers of several players. The uplifting tale should be available for Christmas 2010 and will make an excellent gift for the NBA Commissioner who has everything - except, of course, a fair and balanced league. [Dead Spin]

PlayStation Turns 15

What does 15 years of PlayStation look like? Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has opened a brand new site celebrating the legacy of the PlayStation platform, featuring a timeline of Sony's major gaming hardware releases, beginning with the launch of the original Japanese PlayStation on December 3rd, 1994. Sony's handheld holds a majority of those dotted events, with every version of the PSP (from the 1000 to the Go) represented. Interesting to how far things have progressed in a relatively short amount of time. [SCEI]
