Joaquin Phoenix Returns to Letterman

After hitting the Ed Sullivan Theater last year for a very bizarre interview with David Letterman, Joaquin Phoenix finally returned to The Late Show to chat about his staged Casey Affleck-directed feature I'm Still Here, as well as his wacky appearance on the program last year.

Even though we now know that this was all staged, it’s entertaining to watch on as Joaquin and Letterman joke about one of the most notorious late night television moments ever. The new clip also gives us a little insight into how and why Phoenix came up with the film in the first place.

Either way, Joaquin Phoenix is the man. How many A-list stars can you name that would have taken a chance like this and risk their careers on a low budget “documentary?” Not many, people. Not many.
