Mastodon Really Loves LSD

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, progressive metal lords Mastodon open up about a number of subjects including their love for making music with the use of LSD. Rock!

In the new Lil Wayne-fronted issue of Rolling Stone, Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds tells the publication that the band’s high-flying concept album Crack the Skye originates in one very odd place:

It comes from taking too much acid...Acid is the best drug in the world. It did the most amazing things for my creative psyche, and it still is doing it for me.

This sounds like my kinda guy.

Hit the RS website to watch Mastodon drummer Brann Dailor and bassist Troy Sanders discuss scatter-brain topics like opening for Iron Maiden and Metallica and serenading Dave Grohl in the Foo Fighters’ bathroom.
