Got Two Smart Cars? Play Pong!

byTheta1138   September 15, 2011 at 7:50PM  |  Views:  |  Comment

The Frankfurt Auto Show is the second weirdest trade show currently running right now (the first is the Tokyo Game Show). Every automaker shows their concept cars and tries to get attention. Smart, the tiny little car made by Mercedes, is no different.

But amid sports cars and concept models, it's hard for a tiny car, an electric-powered one, no less, to get attention. So they went retro...and used them to play Pong.

Yep, they turned two electric Smart Fortwos into video game controllers. How? By laying down some sensors and having the car pull back and forth. Yep, that simple. The idea was to demonstrate that the cars could go all day with their electric motors without burning any gas.

Or maybe that they were really good for people who have trouble parallel parking. Either way.
